On Friday the 22nd we learned about our upcoming project, La poesía de comida. Please see the attached task statement to learn more.

La poesía de comida task statement

On Monday, April 1st, we will be selecting our final recipes and begin translating.

Your recipe should be meet the following requirements:
  • An authentic recipe of that country. Even though they eat burritios in Argentina and Pizza in Bolivia, these are NOT authentic to the region. (Sorry México, no burritos or nachos!)
  • Between 5 and 15 steps
  • The ingrediants can be found in Durango (You do not want to find out the night before exhibition that you are unable to make your dish.)
If you were not here on Friday. Please take the survey on the previous post. These are the countries that still remain. Choose your first, second, and third choice in case your first two choices have already been taken.

The following people I have already signed up for countries:

Chase - Ecuador
Zoë - Ecuador

2. Make a folder somewhere in your computer
3. Move the downloaded file into that folder.
4. Right click the file, and click "extract all"

Hoy hicimos una evaluación oral sobre el guión para la exhibición.
Today we took an oral evaluation over the script for the exhibition.  If you did not do this today, you will need to do this tomorrow or when you return. 

Empezamos una película que vamos a seguir mirrando mañana. 
We began a movie that we will continue watching tomorrow. 

Hay que actualizar tu carpeta digetal por viernes el 22.  Abajo hay los requesitos.
You need to update your DP by Friday the 22.  Below are the requirements.

Use the words in bold for your titles for the sections.  
Aquí tienes las expectativas para los DPs respeto al trabajo de Arte y Lengua:
1)     Título: "Arte y Lengua"
2)     Descripción del trabajo: 3-8 sentences in English explaining what this project involved.
3)     Una copia de tu declaración del artista final
4)     Una foto de tu obra.  También tengo fotos de ti con tu obra de arte (see Dave for the file)
5)     Una reflexión: 5-10 sentences in English discussing your take-aways from this project.  Consider the following questions:
a.       What did you learn from this project (culture/grammar/vocab)?
b.      What did you learn about the artist you studied?
c.       What were you proud of from this project? Why?
d.      What would you do differently next time?
e.       What was challenging about this project?

Remember to bring the following things on Monday:
  • Exhibition attire (Truth of War style)
  • Artwork
  • Orignal example of your inspiration
  • Notecards with what you will be saying at exhibition
  • If you have an easel to support your work or a way to prop up your work that would be great if you could bring your own.
  • Other props you will need for showing your work

seguimos con reuniones individuales para hablar de tu redacción.
We continued with individual meetings to talk about you papers. 

Tarea:
Busca un ejemplo de arte similar a tu obra y imprímelo. 
Look for an original work of art and print it out.

Opcional:
Apoya a tus amigos y mira estes videos de español 2 y vota por tu  video favorito. 
Support your friends and watch these Spanish 2 videos and vote for your favorite video.

Hoy llevaron sus obras a clase para mostrame que ya las terminaron.
Today you brought in your artwork to class to show me you have finished them.

Trabajamos en las correciones en nuestras redacciones.
We worked on the corrections on our papers.

Cuando terminen las correciones hay que escribir sus guiones para la exposición.
When you finish the corrections you need to write your script for the exhibition.

Tarea:

Haz las correciones en tus redacciones
Make corrections to your papers

Los guiones para el fin de la hora mañana.
Scripts are due at the end of the period.

Tomamos la evaluación sobre los verbos con cambio de raíz y los verbos "go"
We took the evaluation over stem-changing verbs and "go" verbs. 

Trabajamos en nuestras obras.
We worked on our art projects.

Entregaron los borradores con los tres párrafos.
You turned in the draft with all three paragraphs. 

Tarea:
Work on your art project over TCAP week and correct your paper when you get it back. 
Monday 11th we will be working on our artwork for the last time. 

Artwork is due on Tuesday the 12th.
